Welcome to Hot Ranking. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of hotranking.app (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Hot Ranking is an interactive ranking platform operated as an independent project. References to "we", "us", "our", and "Hot Ranking" mean the operators of hotranking.app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian. By using the Site, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Use of the Site

You may use the Site to view polls, submit votes, share results, and create new polls. You may not:

• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to inflate vote counts.
• Attempt to circumvent our duplicate-vote prevention.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically copy the Site's content for republication elsewhere without our written permission.
• Submit polls or comments that are illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringe someone else's intellectual property.
• Impersonate another person or entity.
• Interfere with the Site's security, performance, or integrity (DDoS, exploits, malware).
• Use the Site to advertise commercial products or services without our written permission.

We reserve the right to remove content, block users, and pursue legal action for violations of these rules.

4. User-submitted polls

If you submit a poll through the Create page, you represent that:

• You have the right to submit the content (text, images, descriptions).
• The content does not violate any law or third-party rights.
• You grant Hot Ranking a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, modify, and distribute the content as part of the Site.

We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove submitted polls at our discretion. We are not obligated to publish any submission.

5. Intellectual property

The Site's design, branding, code, and original written content (including poll descriptions, blog articles, and editorial commentary) are owned by Hot Ranking and protected by copyright and trademark law.

Item images on Hot Ranking (album art, movie posters, character portraits, etc.) are sourced from public APIs (Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, iTunes Search API, PokeAPI) under their respective licenses. They are used for editorial commentary, ranking, and discussion under fair use principles. If you own an image and believe it has been used in error or you want it removed, see our DMCA notice section below.

6. Voting and results

Vote results are aggregated and anonymous. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any specific vote count, and we reserve the right to remove votes that we determine were submitted in violation of these Terms (e.g., bot votes, manipulation campaigns).

Once submitted, votes are final. We do not provide a way to change your vote on a given poll.

7. Advertising

The Site displays third-party advertising (Google AdSense). We do not endorse the products or services advertised, and we are not responsible for the content of ads. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Rankings published on Hot Ranking reflect aggregated user opinions, not factual or expert assessments.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hot Ranking and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim — which, since the Site is free, is zero.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hot Ranking from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Site at any time.

12. DMCA / copyright takedown

If you believe content on Hot Ranking infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice to dmca@hotranking.app including:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
• The URL on Hot Ranking where the infringing content appears.
• Your contact information.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We will respond to valid notices within 48 hours and remove infringing content as soon as practicable.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Hot Ranking is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
